ECSE Imaging Science and Computer Vision

Researchers in this area investigate the creation, perception, and understanding of images and multidimensional datasets in a wide range of applications. These include video analytics in camera networks, human activity modeling and recognition, facial feature detection and emotion estimation, biological and biomedical image analysis, large graphical dataset analysis, optical coherence tomography and synthetic aperture imaging, vision-guided robotics, creating large-scale occupant-aware environments, and visual effects production. This research area relied on the fundamental tools of advanced mathematics, computer vision and graphics, pattern recognition, image and video processing, machine learning, and computational geometry.
