Mercer Distinguished Lecture Series
DCC 318
Wed, October 19, 2022 at 4:00 PM

This talk will highlight the megatrends that are driving the semiconductor industry and introduce the GlobalFoundries market driven technology development approach for the formation of a differentiated technology platform roadmap.  Key trends in segments including smart mobile devices, wired and wireless infrastructure, datacenter (compute and data transport), imaging (AR/VR), and automotive will be detailed.  Specific examples of technology innovation in areas including silicon photonics (SiPh), analog compute infrastructure (ACiM, MRAM, RRAM), sub THz 5G/6G transistors (SiGe, FDSOI), and ultra-low power high performance CMOS (FDSOI, FinFET), and quantum systems will be discussed.  The talk will close with the introduction of GFLabs,  a collaborative research entity to drive innovation in the physical sciences and design automation to 2030 and beyond.
