Katie and Andrew just graduated from HVCC Engineering Science program in May 2025 and will start in RPI in Fall 2025 to finish their four-year college experiences. Katie will be in ECSE and Andrew will be in ISE. Two additional RPI-HVCC Semiconductor Scholars, Hunter Weber and Aiden Fedorowicz, will also continue their education in RPI ECSE.
This conference was put together by ATI (Advanced Technology International). The mission of ATI is to serve as the catalyst for government innovation: For more than 25 years, ATI haa developed innovative ways to help the Federal Government execute its most urgent research and development initiatives. ATI identifies, recruits, organizes, and manages R&D teams that deliver transformative technologies to warfighters and our nation faster. ATI sponsored travel grants to community college students and faculty and also four-year college faculty who are working with community college students to attend this conference.
There was great emphasis in Nanotechnology in this Expo. Of special interest was the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Focus sessions to educate the next generation semiconductor manufacturing workforce. There were educators across the nation brainstorming on the Nanoelectronics and Photonics workforce development programs. Discussions centered around how to strengthen the US domestic workforce readiness from community college to research universities. Our RPI/HVCC Semiconductor Scholar program is a great example of such initiatives.
