ECSE Undergraduate Leadership Pathway

The ECSE Leadership Pathway recognizes students at graduation who have demonstrated a significant investment in the ECSE community through their leadership and participation in departmental events and activities.

Students who complete the pathway will be awarded at the ECSE graduation ceremony.

To complete the pathway, students should fill out the pathway form (virtual, will be uploaded to Box using the sign feature). The form should then be submitted along with your resume or CV to Rama Hamarneh (ramah@rpi.edu) the semester of graduation (information on where and how to submit will be sent out every semester as part of the "graduation check" email).

To complete the leadership pathway, students must do the following:

  • Participate in the ECSE Industry Adviser Program for 1 semester (Signature: Rama Hamarneh)
  • Volunteer to represent ECSE at admissions events for 2 semesters (Signature: Rama Hamarneh)

They must also participate in or complete two different items of the following:

  • 1 semester of Undergraduate Student Assistant (this can be completed twice) (Signature: Class Instructor)
  • 1 semester of working in the Mercer X Lab – Gold Badge Level (Signature: Shayla Sawyer)
  • 1 semester of leadership in an engineering club (Signature: Organization faculty/staff adviser)
  • 1 semester of URP and present at RPI or ECSE about your research (Signature: URP faculty)
  • 1 semester of STEM-related community engagement (eg. Engineering Ambassadors, First Robotics, etc.) (Signature: organization faculty/staff adviser)
  • 1 semester as a Student Success Tutor for an ECSE Class (Signature: Student Success Tutor Coordinator)
  • 1 semester as a Learning Assistant (Signature: Staff adviser for LA program)

To confirm a student has completed an activity, they must have an approval signature from the faculty or staff member sponsoring the activity.

Transfer students who come in at the junior level need only complete 1 semester of the Industry Adviser Program, 1 semester of admissions volunteering, and 1 activity from the list provided.

Any questions should be directed to Rama Hamarneh (ramah@rpi.edu).
