Zheyu Zhang is an Associate Professor and the inaugural recipient of the Felak Endowed Faculty Fellowship in Electric Power Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He previously served as a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2015–2018), Lead Power Electronics Engineer at GE Research in Niskayuna, NY (2018–2019), and the Warren H. Owen – Duke Energy Assistant Professor of Engineering at Clemson University (2019–2023).Zhang’s research focuses on wide bandgap-based power electronics characterization and applications. His work has been recognized with four prize paper awards from the IEEE Industry Applications Society and the IEEE Power Electronics Society, the 2021 IEEE IAS Andrew W. Smith Outstanding Young Member Achievement Award, and the 2022 NASA Early Career Faculty Award.
